Belchen Summit in Winter with snow
Baden-Wuerttemberg

The Belchen, 1414m high, is one of the highest hills of the Black Forest. Only the Feldberg (visible just behind the cross) and two of it's nearer neighbors are higher, but the Belchen is certainly the most prominent hill in the Black Forest.

There have been years without snow in December. We came here, because of the good chance to have a magnificent view of the alps, especially around sunset. We were lucky. They were beautifully visible between 120 and 280 kilometers south.
