Die neueste der drei Münchner Pinakotheken ist die "Pionakothek der Moderne". Die Eröffnung fand am 16.09.2002 statt. Dass das Museum sehr populär ist, sieht man daran , dass der 2 Millionste Bseucher bereits nach eineinhalb Jahren begrüßt werden konnte. Ikm Museum sind vier verschiedene Sammlungen untergebracht: "Sammlung für Moderne Kunst", "Staatliche Graphische Sammlung", "Architekturmuseum" und "Die Neue Sammlung".
