Poulnabrone Dolmen From South
Ireland

Poulnabrone Dolmen is a Neolithic portal tomb located in the Burren region of County Clare, Ireland. Constructed over 5,000 years ago, it consists of large limestone slabs forming a chamber beneath a massive capstone. Excavations have revealed the remains of more than 30 individuals, along with pottery, stone tools, and personal items, indicating its use as a communal burial site. The structure reflects early human beliefs about death and the afterlife, as well as advanced knowledge of construction and alignment. Poulnabrone stands as a powerful symbol of prehistoric ritual and engineering in Ireland’s ancient landscape.
