Iona is a small island of the Inner Hebrides. It can be reached via ferry from Mull. It is a short distance, just under 2 kilometers. For many centuries in the early middle ages Iona was the religious and spiritual centre of Scotland. Nowadays Iona Abbey is an ecumenical church. Iona is the home of the ecumenical Christian Iona Community.
