The Devil's Punchbowl is a point where the Garlock and San Andreas faults collide, creating upwards jutting vertical walls of sandstone as high as 300 feet over a period of 60 million years. The Devils Chair Trail is a 9.1 mile from the county parking area and is shared by the Pacific Crest Trail that leads to a viewpoint offering a spectacular viewpoint of the southwestern Mojave Desert.
