The grounds of Tinturn Abbey, County Wexford
Ireland

Located on the Hook peninsula in southern Ireland, Tinturn Abbey is a daughter-house of its more well known namesake in South Wales. The Cistercian monastery  was founded by William Marshal, Earl of Pembroke around 1200 on lands held through his marriage to the Irish heiress, Isabella de Clare.

It was suppressed by King Henry VIII in 1536 and the church, cloister and associated buildings were converted into a private dwelling. It remained lived in by the same family until the mid-20th century.
