Amoreiras Garden
Lisbon
The Amoreiras Garden was designed by the Marquês de Pombal in 1771, who planted the first mulberry trees here. It is located in Amoreiras Square, in Lisbon and is bordered by the Águas Livres and Mãe d'Água Aqueducts, now the Water Museum. This is one of the oldest gardens in the portuguese capital with different species of trees. The mulberry, linden and ginkgos are particularly noteworthy. In the center of the garden is a circular fountain, flanked by stone benches. The Our Lady of Monserrate chapel is also in Amoreiras Garden, surrounded by several 18th century houses, a children's playground and a kiosk with a terrace, inviting you to stay and enjoy the Lisbon lifestyle.
