Glory by G.Mazza
Emilia Romagna

The Glory in San Giovanni Battista's church in Minerbio (BO) has been realized at the beginning of 1700 by Giuseppe Mazza (1653-1741), sculptor from Bologna. It has been at first realized for the S.Gabriel's church in Bologna, but then acquired and transferred to Minerbio in 1811 and completed with clouds and angels, which has been designed by Venturoli and realized by Giacomo De Maria, sculptor from Bologna and Casanova's student. The light coming from the big window on the lateral wall in contrast with the darkness of the presbytery catches the visitor's eye in a mystic atmosphere. The photo has been realized during the restoration after the 20th May 2012 earthquake in Emilia.
