Timoleague Abbey ruins, County Cork
Ireland

The ruins of Timoleague Abbey are located in a village on the River Argideen, overlooking Courtmacsherry Bay in County Cork. The late 13th century Franciscan Abbey was founded on the site of a 6th century monastic settlement founded by Saint Molaga, after whom the village is named, the Irish for 'House of Molaga' being ‘Tigh Molaga’.

The substantial remains from several centuries of development include the church, domestic ranges and a sally port.
