"What hath God wrought" by Mark Bradford
La Jolla
This piece is part of the Stuart collection of art installations on the University of California San Diego campus in San Diego, California, USA. It commemorates the first telegraph line from Washington to Baltimore on May 24, 1844. On top of the installation is a light that flashes out "What hath God wrought" in Morse Code, the first telegraph message ever transmitted.
