So happy to present this 360 degree virtual panorama .. was easy to shoot and to stitch .. shot with Nikon D90 @ Tokina Fisheye 10-17mm lens @ Manfrotto SPH Panoramic Head.
James Prinsep Memorial named in honor of the Anglo-Indian scholar and mint assayer James Prinsep on Prinsep Ghat, overlooked by magnificent Vidyasagar Setu. James Prinsep was famous for deciphering the inscriptions of Ashoka, was designed by W. Fitzgerald and constructed in 1843.
The monument rich in Greek and Gothic inlays, was restored by the state's public works department in November 2001 and has since been well-maintained.
Prinsep Ghat is one of the oldest recreational spots of Kolkata and people come here in evenings on weekends to have stroll along the bank, with many food-stalls selling variety of road-side foods. People can also have a ride in the river on the boats.
