The site of La Grande Chaloupe, located between Saint-Denis and La Possession on Réunion Island, is a protected natural area recognized as part of the World Heritage for its unique biodiversity. Among the emblematic species of the local fauna, the papangue (or Maillard’s harrier), the only bird of prey endemic to Réunion, frequently soars over the valley.
