Malmok sits along the rugged northern coastline of Washington Slagbaai National Park, where steady trade winds and powerful surf shape the exposed limestone landscape. Construction began decades ago with the intention of creating a navigational beacon for ships passing Bonaire’s hazardous northern shore, but the project was never completed. The stone tower remains as a silent landmark—an abandoned lighthouse that was planned but never brought into service.
