Douro Internacional, Miranda do Douro Dam, Miranda do Douro, Portugal

The Miranda Dam creates a small reservoir along a length of 14 km, with a maximum capacity at the maximum normal level of exploration, with a quota of 528.05 m, of 28,100,000 m³, of which only about 6,400,000 m³ are turbines in normal operation. Basically, the use consists of a dam, equipped in its central part with a Flood Unloader, Underground Plant, Command and Discharge Building and Substation located on the right bank. The dam, with a maximum height of 80 m above the foundations, is of the type of buttresses and is equipped, in its central part, with 4 spillways provided with segment gates, which together allow for a maximum discharge of 11,000 m³ / s .

In spite of these two bodies, there is still no single Constitution or set of laws applying to all the countries of Europe. Debate rages over the role of the EU in regards to national sovereignty.
