Saint Martin Gardens
Monaco
Saint Martin Gardens was the first public garden in the Principality of Monaco to be built, having been inaugurated in 1816. Essentially constituted by Mediterranean plants, pine trees, holm oaks, myrtles, pistachios,... Later on, other exotic plants were added that were acclimatized to the place. Situated on Avenue Saint-Martin, between the Oceanographic Museum and the Cathedral, this green oasis offers visitors many surprises with fabulous views of the sea. Exceptional plants and sculptures coexist in harmony in this unique place that combines art and botany. It was. On a headland facing the Mediterranean, visitors will find a bronze statue of Prince Albert I, the navigator prince, created by the artist François Cogne. Access for people with reduced mobility is located in front of the cathedral or next to the Oceanographic Museum. It is open every day from 9 am to 6 pm with free admission.
