Sandon (aerial)[1]
Montagnes Rocheuses - Alberta

A 46m aerial view overlooking the ghost town of Sandon, British Columbia.  Named after prospector John Sandon who staked nearby claims, the region was sought after by thousands after Eli Carpenter & Jack Seaton discovered silver in 1891.  The silver mines were deemed the richest in the province from 1892-1900 w/ numerous mining boom & busts continuing up until 1993.  Today there are a few residents who maintain & preserve the present buildings.  There is even a display of about 20 Brill trolleybuses that were shipped over from Vancouver in the early 2000s, though they sit in decay.
