View from the summit of Mt. Sir Donald (elev. 3,284m) in Glacier National Park east of Revelstoke, British Columbia.  A dramatic pyramid Matterhorn-shaped peak w/ its famed northwest ridge approach, the peak stands out above the Rogers Pass area & overlooks nearby Illecillewaet Glacier.  The peak is named after Sir Donald A. Smith, governor of Hudson's Bay Company.  From here one can see well into Glacier National Park w/ grand views of the Illecillewaet Neve & Mt. Dawson area to the south, Mount Rogers to the north, & countless glaciated peaks in the surrounding area.  The approach up is rated 5.4 w/ the exposed ascent being easier than the descent.
