Toronto South Core - Downtown South
Toronto

None of the buildings that are prominent in this view existed twenty years ago. South Core is a new part of Downtown Toronto that lies to the South of Union Station & the Railway Line and just steps from the Waterfront.

This area was originally part of Toronto Harbour. Between the 1850s and 1920s landfill was done to accomodate additional railway lines. Due to the area's designation as rail lands was unusable.

In the last few years many highrise buildings both commercial and residential have shot up. Several are still under construction or in planning.
