Wolframs-Eschenbach - Monument at the castle

In 1860, King Maximilian II of Bavaria made the decision to erect a memorial to the great German poet Wolfram von Eschenbach. He sent a commission to Eschenbach to check whether something could be found about the poet. The commission submitted a proposal to His Majesty, which Konrad Knoll implemented in a pewter foundry in Munich. The monument was ceremoniously unveiled on May 1st, 1861.
