Boquillas Crossing is adminstered by the National Park Service
Mexico
After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 most of the smaller border crossings along the Rio Grande were closed. This resulted in great hardship for the residents of the village of Boquillas del Carmen in the Mexican state of Coahuila. A solution was negotiated where the US National Park service would administer a new Boquillas Port of Entry.
