Bridge over the Atlantic, Great Bernera

The Bernera Bridge was built in 1953. It was the first fixed link in Europe to be constructed of pre-stressed concrete girders.

It is one of a number of bridges also known as the 'Bridge over the Atlantic' as they span Atlantic Ocean tidal waters.
