Der Neue Dom in Linz, auch Mariä Empfängnis Dom, Mariendom genannt, wurde 1855 durch den Linzer Bischof Franz Joseph Rudigier aus Dank für die Bulle Ineffabilis Deus vom 8. Dezember 1854 veranlasst. 1862 erfolgte die Grundsteinlegung, 1924 wurde der Dom von Bischof Johannes Maria Gföllner schließlich als Marienkirche geweiht.
