Ciliou Waterfall, Yanchao
Taiwan

Waterfalls in Taiwan are mostly hidden in remote mountains, making waterfalls nearby plains very rare. The Ciliou Waterfall southeast of Dongyan Village, Yanchao District is so named because it is located at the foot of the 236-meter “Ciliou Mountain”, and it is a waterfall very close to the plain. The Ciliou Waterfall is about 60 meters high, with a stone tortoise in the fall line and a round pond at the bottom. The waterfall becomes a small stream in the dry winter season, but flows like a galloping horse in the summer. It was the source of drinking water for citizens in the Cilioujhuang.
