Coastal road and quarry from the Sychnant pass
Wales
The costal road - the A55 - was only finished in 1991 with major tunnel work required to be able to hug the coast. On the other side you can see more evidence of the quarry history here in North Wales. Views go from Vonwy over to Llandudno with the Ormes head, over to Angelsey with Puffin island and the Carneddau mountains behind the quarry.
