Dagang Mountain (Chaofong Temple), Alian
Taiwan

Chaofong Temple at an altitude of 260 meters is a majestic temple on Dagang Mountain. It was built in 1763 (the 28th year of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty), with over 200 years of history at this point in time. The temple, a 2nd class historical site, was built with lofty architecture; it enshrines the Goddess of Mercy (Guanyin). The scripture chanting sound flows from the temple every morning and evening; the evening drum and morning bell help to soothe our souls stressed by the city’s hubbub.
