Gletsch Train Station
Switzerland
The Gletsch train station opened in 1914, and is owned from then until 1981 by Furka Oberalp Bahn. This picture shows a train of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn, which began operations on June 30, 1914 making the route Brig - Gletsch was called Furk Oberalp Bahn. The opening of this route has made the Goms Valley and the magnificent Rhône Glacier popular destinations. On June 30, 2014 it celebrated 100 years continuing to operate with a wider route, connecting Zermatt to Davos and St. Moritz.
