Hovenweep Castle in the afternoon

The Hovenweep Castle ruin consists of two D-shaped buildings with thick walls. Analysis of a roof beam indicates a date of 1277 AD. There is a reliable spring in the canyon just below, probably the reason the pueblos were built here.
