Islay ferry, Kennacraig
Scotland

Named after the historic settlement on Eilan Mòr in Loch Finlaggan, or Fionlagen in Gaelic, in the north east corner of Islay, the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry Finlaggan links Kennacraig on the Kintyre peninsula with Port Ellen and Port Askaig on Islay in the Southern Hebrides.

The mainland ferry is a lifeline for dozens of island communities scattered around off Scotland's west coast.
