Kelantan State Museum Kota Bharu
Malaysia
The building that houses the Kelantan State Museum has a long history of administrative importance. It was constructed in 1930 during the British colonial era and originally served as the Kota Bharu Land Office. Later, it became the headquarters for the Kota Bharu Town Council (Majlis Perbandaran Kota Bharu). In 1990, the building was officially inaugurated as the Kelantan State Museum by the then Sultan of Kelantan. The museum was established to centralize the state's historical records and artifacts. Today, it serves as the primary repository for Kelantanese heritage, featuring galleries dedicated to: Archeology: Showcasing prehistoric finds from the region. Arts and Crafts: Displaying the state's famous Wau (kites), Gasing (tops), and batik. History: Documenting the transition of Kelantan from a sovereign sultanate to a state within Malaysia.
