Long-necked karen village
Thailand

The Kayan people from Burma are known as the long-necked Karen. They are a sub-tribe of the karen people. In Thailand they are brought from Burma and held in tourist villages of mixed hill-tribes. They are good at weaving and sell their handiwork to make a living. Life is difficult for them in Burma under the present regime, but they have little freedom in Thailand because they are without papers.
