Fourmile Canyon charcoal kilns (interior) [1]
Nevada

Two abandoned charcoal kilns are found in Fourmile Canyon in the Hot Creek Range, Nevada.  A 4x4 road takes one to the site where this right kiln is well preserved with native flat stones.  Charcoal kilns were used for remote mining to create coal from wood to fuel mills & smelters.
