Nave of St Nicholas church Charlwood

Located north west of Gatwick airport, Charlwood village can trace it's roots back to Norman times.

This Grade I listed building was built in around 1080, only fourteen years after the Battle of Hastings, and before most of the English cathedrals.

Click here http://www.charlwoodandhookwood.co.uk/st-nicholas-church.php for more about the present day church and here - http://www.charlwoodandhookwood.co.uk/history-of-the-church.php for it's history, which describes the nationally important 13th century wall paintings.
