Old Head Castle, Kinsale, County Cork
Ireland

Built in 1223, Old Head Castle is located south of the town of Kinsale. Also known as De Courcy Castle, it is effectively a curtain wall, punctuated by several towers, and defended by a deep ditch that seals off the entire Old Head of Kinsale peninsula.

It remains as inaccessible today as it did then as the Old Head of Kinsale peninsula is the site of an exclusive golf club!
