莺歌海盐场是海南岛最大的海盐场，在华南地区也是首屈一指。 海南莺歌海盐场位于乐东县，面临大海，背靠尖峰岭林区，是一片3000多平方公里的滩涂地带。这里可见一望无垠的银白色盐海，渠道纵横有序，盐田银光闪闪，景象十分美丽[1]。 来到莺歌海盐场，首先映入人们眼帘的是一望无垠的银海。这里，渠道纵横整然有序，井 井盐田银光闪闪，高压电线凌空飞架，水泵房池星罗棋布，制盐机械转动轰鸣，处处呈现一派生产繁忙的景象。 莺歌海盐场建在海山之间，尖峰岭的连绵群山挡住了来自北方的台风云雨，使这里长年烈日当空，有充分的光热进行盐业生产。加之这里的海水含盐度高，这样便造就了得天独厚的生产条件。 参观莺歌海盐场制盐很有趣味，涨潮时，海水从纳潮口闸流入储水湖，通过扬水站，再流过初、中、高级蒸发池，海水浓度便逐级升高。成了人们平常讲的卤水，卤水进入结晶区，就在那里饱和结晶。每天下午一辆辆收盐机忙着收盐，机后铲起一道道雪白的盐花，机前的旋转刀片，迅速地把盐捣碎，盐粒通过自动传送带进到机仓里，运到池畔，堆成一座座连绵不绝的小银山。这些优质盐，通过场区十多股火车道源源不绝地运往海内外。
