Patio de los Naranjos, Malaga
Spain

Patio de los Naranjos, is located at the north facade of Malaga Cathedral. The historic courtyard is known for its garden and orange trees, from which it takes its name.

Formally, the Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación (Our Lady of Incarnation), the catherdral was built on the site of a demolished mosque. Construction began in 1528. Building work stopped in 1782 without the completion of a second tower, hence it is known locally as ‘La Manquita’ or the ‘one-armed lady’.
