Crocus Glade (129)
CROCUS FLOWERS IN CHOCHOŁOWSKA VALLEY. The Chocholow Pasture is the largest clearing on the Polish side of the Tatra Mountains and one of the largest pastures in the whole Tatra Mountain range. It lies at an altitude between 1090m and 1150m above sea level and used to be one of the main mountain pastures in this region. Today, it is only used for sheep grazing in the summer months. In 1930 there were more than 60 different types of buildings here such as huts, sheds and barns with hay which were used by shepherds and mountaineers as well as poachers. Today they are only a historical reminder of the pasture's heritage.
