Ruthven Barracks & Stables, Scotland
Scotland

Completed in 1721 by the British Forces after the 1715 Jacobite uprising, these barracks housed 120 soldiers to patrol the Scottish Highlands.

They were occupied by government forces till February1746, when the soldiers surrendered to a large Jacobite force.

The barracks were burned by the Jacobites shortly after their defeat in April 1746, at Culloden Moor.
