S.João de Arga medieval Sanctuary
Portugal
On a broken of the mountain range, isolated and nestled among century-old trees the St. John Chapel of Arga. The body of the temple preserves a part in late Romanesque, the former Benedictine monastery church that existed here. It is referred to the inquiries of 1258, the reign of King Afonso III "Bolognese" and the remains of this primitive building are not earlier.
