Ракета (panorobot.ru)

Монумент ракета-носитель «Союз» музея «Самара Космическая» им. Д. И. Козлова был сооружен в нашем городе на проспекте Ленина. Возведение памятника было приурочено к юбилею полета Юрия Гагарина в космос. Выпуск ракеты Р-7 начал осуществляется в нашем городе в 1958 году на предприятии ЦСКБ-Прогресс.

Этот памятник является одним из самых молодых монументов Самары. Его торжественное открытие состоялось в 11 часов утра 1 октября 2001 года. В церемонии открытия приняли участие губернатор Самарской области Титов, генеральный конструктор «ЦСКБ-Прогресс» Д. И. Козлов, представители Росавиакосмоса, полигонов Плесецк и Байконур.
