Zingerle cross (1891 m)

At the Zingerle cross, 1891 m above sea level, in the Saualpe mountain range, Carinthia, Austria. The Saualpe is a fragment of the primeval continent Gondwana, which dominated the southern hemisphere 600 million years ago. When the Alps began to unfold around 130 million years ago, this fragment was "incorporated" into the mountain range that formed.
