Located on the Market Square in the center of Lindau, Germany, the Evangelical Church of St. Stephan was built in 1180. The base of the tower and the south wall of the choir date from this period. Around 1500, the building was expanded to its current form. A Rococo church with fine stucco and stained glass, in 1781 the altar, baptismal font, and pulpit were added in reddish stucco marble. Finally, in 1965, the vibrant stained glass windows in the choir with biblical motifs were created, radiating vibrant colors not only on sunny days.

It is one of the dominant buildings in Lindau's market square. Next to the main entrance stands a 400-year-old bell that was damaged in an accident during World War II. The nearly 4-ton cast-iron bell bearing the coats of arms of Lindau and the Free Imperial Cities is a popular photographic subject today.

Por volta de 1500, o edifício foi ampliado até à sua forma atual. Igreja rococó com estuque fino e vitrais, em 1781 o altar, a pia batismal e o púlpito foram adicionados em mármore estuque avermelhado. Finalmente, em 1965, foram criados os vibrantes vitrais do coro com motivos bíblicos, irradiando cores vibrantes não só nos dias de sol.

É um dos edifícios dominantes na praça do mercado de Lindau. Junto à entrada principal, está um sino com 400 anos que foi danificado num acidente durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial. As quase 4 toneladas de ferro fundido com os brasões de Lindau e das Cidades Imperiais Livres são um tema fotográfico popular nos dias de hoje.
