The Defense Delegation in the Principality of Asturias, in collaboration and thanks to the Asturian model makers: Aníbal Vega, Vidiarte Laso and José Menéndez; and, in particular, the Aeronautical Circle of 'La Felguera Pedro Duro', has organized the exhibition "The conquest of heaven", which opened on December 29 at the headquarters of the Defense Delegation.
The exhibition offers a general tour of the history of aviation, from the balloon and the Zeppelin airship, through the romantic biplanes of the First World War, to the most modern space rockets or even real satellites, with models made on different scales; In addition, there is a prominent space for aviation in the Spanish Civil War. It is complemented by uniforms, instruments, bombs, photographs and other objects related to military aeronautics provided by the "El Cueto" Museum. There is also an aerial simulator, for children and young people, by Francisco Zanfaño, and it is necessary to arrange a visit.
Apart from the air show, the Defense Delegation has a preferential space for the exhibition of the diorama "The Miracle of Empel", which reflects, based on Playmobil figures, the events known by this name that occurred in the Netherlands in 1585, that gave rise to the patronage of the Virgin Immaculate Conception by the Spanish Infantry.
