The ruins of Minster Lovell Hall
England

The ruins of Minster Lovell Hall are located in a rural setting beside the River Windrush, in the Oxfordshire countryside. The manor house was built by William Lovell, one of the richest men in England, around 1440. Intended to show off his wealth, he had an older 12th century house demolished and the impressive new house built on its foundations.

It was the main residence of the Lovell family for centuries, until it was forfeited to the crown during the War of the Roses. Francis Lovell was a Yorkist supporter and had his estates confiscated, after Richard III was killed at the Battle of Bosworth.
