The Tyrol panorama
Austria

Munich painter Zeno Diemer (1867-1939), supervised by historic painter Franz von Defregger (1835-1921), made this oil painting on a canvas of more than one thousand square metres in 1896. It represents the fights of the third Bergisel battle on 13th August 1809 between the Tyrolian emperors army and a Bavarian army led by French command. It is on display in a specially built new museum building. See: tiroler-landesmuseen Photo's taken on August 25, 2013.
