温州市江心屿景色秀丽宜人，早在1500年前的南北朝时代，就名扬海内。古时就有“春城烟雨、塔院筠风、瓯江月色、沙丁渔火、远捕归航”等十景。是温州市区的著名旅游胜地。这座横卧在瓯洒中的孤岛，相传，古代原是两面三刀峰对峙，中贯川流的两个小岛，岛间有深潭莫测的龙潭，后来四川有个和尚叫清了，云游全国名山，来到这里讲经，东海龙王见来听经的人拥挤不下，就作起法来，移山填潭，将两地壳运动陷落部分成河床，而隆重起部分即成岛屿。近年，为疏浚河道，抛石拦沙，又使江心屿面积扩大，西北面沙洲上已新建了公园。 江心屿上有两座宝塔。东塔建于唐咸通十年（869年），登上东塔，东望江海，水天想连，河水滔滔，白帆点点，使人心旷神怡。塔下的龙翔寺，建于北宋开宝二年间（969年），塔下的兴庆寺，现已辟为温州博物馆。 江心屿上最著名的是江心寺，也叫中川寺。殿宇规模宏伟，建筑面积有3000平方米。初建于唐咸通年间，宋高宗南奔时常来此游玩。宋、元、明历代屡废屡修，现存的是清乾隆五十四年（1789年）重建的，寺周古木参天，樟榕相抱云水环绕，景色雅致。寺门前有一副对联，左联是：云早潮，早早潮，早潮早散；潮常涨，常常涨，常涨常消。目睹那瓯江上的云涌潮涨，倍觉别有一番情趣。江心屿的闻名于世，据说自东晋谢灵运游山玩水时，唱出了“乱流趋正绝，孤屿媚中川。云日相辉映，空水共澄鲜”的名句。后人这纪念他，在岛上建有“谢公亭”和“澄鲜阁”。民族英雄文天祥，也曾在孤屿题诗《北归宿中川寺》，后人为纪念文天祥，江心寺对面还建有文天祥祠。永嘉楠溪江—大若岩楠溪江是瓯江下游的最大支流，它鉴定会蜓于浙江永嘉县境地内，其源出于括苍山，z上源分大、小楠两支，在九丈地方汇合后总称楠溪江，注入瓯江。小楠溪江畔的大若岩风景区，方圆25公里，有170处胜地，道貌岸然书称之为“天下第十二福地”。 楠溪江水绿如蓝，江底卵石可数。这里有江中乘舴艋舟或竹筏的奇趣。竹筏扎制精巧，筏首高翘，后部置竹椅，舒适安全，不湿鞋袜，筏旁清流随时手可濯。这条水上游览线长130公里，坐在舴艋舟里，观赏夹岸葱茏滩林20平方公里，绿荫绿茵绿水，其乐融融。 大若岩最大的石洞名陶公洞，梁代道教思想家，陶弘景曾陷居于此。洞高54米，广70米，深75米，可容数千人。洞内有文昌阁、赤水井等古迹，附近还有玉峰、龙头、园眼、扇形、摸银等50余洞。距陶公洞北1．5公里，有“十二峰”，有昂首引颈的犀牛峰，顶天立地的天柱峰，刺破青天的石笋峰、翠绿如黛的宝冠峰，还有横琴、卓笼、展旗、石碑、莲花、仙掌、香炉、童子峰、峰峰相接，群峰峥嵘。又在十二峰的北面有一瀑布凌空飞舞，即号称“浙江第二瀑布”的虎穴百丈瀑，象银龙从124米高的峭壁上飞滚而下，绚丽壮观。
位于大若岩4公里处的石门台，山高岭峻，两旁屏山，形成一条迂回曲折的峡谷。远看，隐约可见岩石生成的石门，气势雄伟。小若岩水石清奇，南有洞，下临深壑，东西两溪合流，风景秀丽，素有“瓯江之胜，小若第一，雁荡次之”之说。
