The Old Well at the Chembolly Tharavad House is almost 180 years old and lined with stone and timber from the Indian Gooseberry tree to keep the water fresh and sweet. Even today the well is a source of water for the entire Chembolly family's needs froom cooking to washing. And the water from the well is filtered and boiled and used for drinking!
