The Lindoso dam is located in the district of Viana do Castelo, in the municipality of Ponte da Barca, just a few hundred meters from the border with Spain. The Lindoso project started operating in 1922 and is one of the most powerful hydroelectric producing centers installed in Portugal. Belongs to the main river basin of the Lima River
