The Margate Fishing Pier was rebuilt in 2010, after the old pier was declared unsafe in 2006. Heavy waves and strong winds damaged the fishing pier further, and it was decided to completely rebuild the pier.
The new Margate Fishing Pier was officially opened in December 2010.
