Tovel lake and Brenta dolomites
Trentino - Südtirol

Lago di Tovel is an alpine lake located in the Val di Tovel, at an altitude of 1177 m above sea level and within the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park

It has also been called red lake due to the reddening of its waters, which occurred until 1964 due to the action of an algae (Tovellia sanguinea).

In the background stands the Brenta Dolomites group which has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
