The Newport Arch is a 3rd-century Roman gate in Lincoln, England. The arch was remodelled and enlarged when the city, then the Roman town Lindum Colonia, became capital of the province Flavia Caesariensis in the 4th century. Seen here is the arch over the pedestrian walkway. The main street arch itself is buried by about eight feet of soil & accumulated debris, standing about 34 feet deep & 17.5 feet wide.
